Richmond, Virginia, launches casino survey
Residents are asked in an online survey to offer input on what features they think the planned new resort casino should include.
US.- Residents in Richmond, Virginia, have been invited by the city council to offer opinions on the city’s potential new casino resort in an online survey.
The survey will be open until December 14. Responses will be taken into consideration when selecting a casino operator and site, the council said.
Residents are asked to rank their priorities for the casino development and share ideas on how it casino should be used to the city’s benefit, for example, to improve infrastructure, green space and public housing.
The Virginia General Assembly passed legislation earlier this year paving the way for the creation of five casinos in what has been one of a handful of states where casinos were still illegal. Individual projects must be subject to residents’ approval in a referendum before going ahead.
The city of Richmond’s referendum is anticipated to take place in November 2021.
