PokerStars set to launch in India

Amaya announced that they’re trying to launch an online poker website in the Asian country.

India.- Pokerstars will launch its Indian operations by early 2017. The company run by Canadian Amaya Gaming announced that they’re in talks with potential local partners. Rafi Ashkenazi, Amaya CEO, commented that they’re trying to exit the Australian market and enter India.

The CEO said that the company is currently looking for local partners, since he believes that they need local help to correctly set the operations. Ashkenazi claimed that the Indian market is very different from the Australian, and they believe that the revenue will be set between US$80 million and US$150 million.

Earlier this week the company announced that they will also launch its online poker service in Portugal. The operation will be launched with a segregated liquidity pool that could take different forms.
