Paradise Co Ltd’s revenues fell 14.7 percent in 2015

The South Korean casino’s sales went from KRS 668.4 billion (US$ 560 million) to KRW 569.9b (US$476 million) year on year.

South Korea.- 2015 was not the best of years for Paradise Co Ltd, according to the report the operator filed for the Korea Exchange. Table games made the majority of 2015’s sales taking up 93.2 percent of the total, although these revenues were still down to 15.9 percent in comparison with 2014’s. Now, even though gaming machines made a much smaller contribution, at least these revenues experienced an upturn of 4.4 percent. December followed the declining trend, closing its sales with a drop of 25.1 percent year-on-year.

The South Korean gambling industry faced challenging circumstances the past year. An outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) but a dent in tourism and China issued a warning back in February urging Asian nations to stop persuading Chinese citizens to visit their countries with the purpose of gambling, which is forbidden on Chinese mainland. It is no surprise foreigners-only casinos would take the blow.
