Oregon Lottery to launch sports betting in October

The second week of October will see the launch of sports betting in Oregon through the new game Scoreboard.

US.- The Oregon Lottery has announced that sports betting will finally debut in the state during the second week of October. While the entity in charge of sports betting operators in the state estimated that its new offering would be available by the start of the new season of the NFL, the launch took more time than expected.

Scoreboard is the new online sports betting game from the Oregon Lottery, which will allow players to bet on professional sports online. Those who wish to place bets all be able to do so through the lottery’s website and on mobile.

Chuck Baumann of the Oregon Lottery said that launching Scoreboard took them longer than they expected as the tests were not ready. “This is the first time that the lottery has entered into an e-commerce game,” Baumann said. “This will be the first time we’ve offered a game — an Oregon lottery game — available online,” he said, according to opb.org.

Bumann added that the game platform is complete, but that the Oregon Lottery is still testing player accounts to ensure financial transactions. The lottery wants to launch the app after making sure that all transactions are ready to go.

Once it is out, Scoreboard will allow people in Oregon to bet on professional football, basketball, tennis, baseball, soccer, golf and NASCAR.
