Oregon sports betting handle and revenue increase in September
Player spending reached $39.3m and gross gaming revenue came in at $5.5m.
US.- Oregon’s sports betting revenue and handle increased year-on-year in September. Player spending was $39.3m, up 57.2 per cent from $25m in September 2021 up 39.4 per cent from $28.2 in August of this year. Gross gaming revenue for the month was $5.5m, up 358.3 per cent compared to the same month in 2021 and more than double the $2.7m generated in August.
Almost all revenue came from DraftKings, with just $163 generated by Scoreboard. The Oregon Lottery’s Scoreboard online sportsbook has been phased out and replaced by DraftKings but still pays out on bets placed before this process began.
With the return of the NFL season, players changed their betting focus from baseball to American football, which attracted $14.8m in wagers and produced $3.3m in revenue. Baseball saw a $11.2m handle and $1.1m in revenue, while soccer generated $4.6m in bets and $300,293 in revenue.
In terms of bet types, DraftKings took $28.1m in single and teaser bets and $11.2m in parlay bets. Scoreboard recorded $169 in single and teasers and just $3 in parlay wagers.
Caesars Racebook expands to Montana and Oregon
Caesars Entertainment has expanded its mobile sports betting app into Montana and Oregon. Following the launch in Ohio and Florida at the start of June and then Indiana, Caesars Racebook went live in two more states.
The joint venture between Caesars Entertainment and NYRA Bets expanded to its fourth and fifth US state just weeks after its initial launch. Caesars Racebook offers bettors pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing content from more than 250 tracks around the world with betting on marquee tracks in the US and internationally.
