Oneidas to launch sports betting
The Oneidas tribe will launch its sports betting operations at the Turning Stone casino in upstate New York next July 31.
US.- Sports betting keeps expanding its presence all over the country, and tribes are also interested in operating the modality to benefit from it. The Oneida Indians will launch sports betting at the Turning Stone casino next July 31.
The Oneida Indian Nation along with Caesars Entertainment is planning a grand opening event tomorrow morning at the Verona facility. The sportsbook, powered by the latter, will be called The Lounge with Caesars Entertainment.
New York has become the ninth state in the US to allow and regulate sports betting after the local gambling commission approved a framework earlier this year. While the Oneidas are not the first to launch sports betting in New York, it is believed that these operations will contribute the upstate New York casinos that have financially struggled in the past.
The lounge
The sportsbook will be called The Lounge with Caesars Sports. The partnership with the casino operator was reached in January. They will feature “large 4K screens, state-of-the-art television programming from multiple sources, constantly updating odds boards, custom-made luxury seating, VIP areas with their own dedicated TV screens, award-winning food, and beautiful full-service bars serving fan-favourite beer and craft cocktails.” All of the sportsbooks would combine food and beverage services in a sports bar setting with betting windows and kiosks.
