Oklahoma: casinos close after Covid-19 case
Two tribal casinos in Oklahoma have closed after an employee caught Covid-19 while working.
US.- Two tribal casinos in Oklahoma have closed after an employee tested positive for Covid-19.
The Sac & Fox Nation, a tribal nation in Oklahoma, has announced that it would close the Black Hawk Casino in Shawnee and the Sac and Fox Casino in Stroud until further notice.
The tribe said in a statement that the closure is being implemented “out of an abundance of caution.”
It said it would carry out deep cleaning and disinfect the entire gaming areas during the closure of the venues.
New cases of Covid-19 have already caused the closure of venues in other states. Gila River Gaming closed three Arizona casinos after a 68-year-old security guard died from the virus.
In Las Vegas, some employees have contracted the virus, but instead of shutting down entire casinos, operators decided to temporarily close the area in which the employee worked.
The Cosmopolitan, for example, undertook extensive cleaning of the concierge office after two of its team members tested positive and two restaurants temporarily closed after employees received positive tests.
