Three tribal casinos in Arizona have closed after the death of an employee due to complications arising from Covid-19.

US.- Three tribal casinos in Arizona have closed their doors due to the death of an employee that had contracted Covid-19.

Gila River Gaming has closed Wild Horse Pass, Lone Butte and Vee Quiva casinos for two weeks to introduce new safety measures.

The new shutdown has been decided after a 68-year-old security guard who worked at Lone Butte contracted Covid-19 and died on June 11.

According to local news, the casinos have said that all employees will receive full pay during the closures.

Arizona casinos started reopening in mid-May. Gila River Gaming opened these three properties on May 15 with the same strict rules observed at Nevada casinos.

The three venues opened at 50 per cent capacity. At first, only employees were required to wear face masks, but last week the casinos made it mandatory for both employees and patrons to cover their faces.
