November mixed bag for Nevada gaming revenues
Nevada’s gaming revenue declined in October, breaking the trend of recovery since August. But sports betting revenues broke the state record.
US.- Regulator in Nevada reported a decline in gaming revenue over November, despite the state breaking its own sports betting revenue record.
Gaming revenues totalled to $771.2m, a 6.3 per cent month-over-month decline from figures recorded in October.
Slot machines generated the most revenue at $528.5m, but declined 6.4 per cent from October. Table gaming followed at $242.7m, which represented a month-over-month decline of 5.5%.
But despite losses across casino gaming, Nevada’s sports betting revenue was reported at $61.8m, a record amount for the state.
Most of the revenue was generated at land-based facilities, with online revenues amounting to just $23.5m. But online sportsbooks collectively generated a higher handle.
Nevada’s casinos are currently capped by the state at 25 per cent capacity in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The current measures stand until at least January 15, but Gov. Steve Sisolak has warned he will take stricter measures if cases continue to rise.
