Riverboat casinos in the state to remain closed for another two weeks due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

US.- Missouri casinos will remain closed for another two weeks following a decision from the Missouri Gaming Commission.

The latest extension comes after the length of the closure was increased at the end of April due to the on-going Covid-19 pandemic.

The Missouri Gaming Commission wants to continue the closure to prevent any chance of the virus spreading throughout the state.

But its decision to extend the closure period comes at a time when other states are starting to relax lockdown measures with some casinos reopening.

In a short statement, the Commission said: “The Missouri Gaming Commission has extended the order for all riverboat gaming casinos to remain closed through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2020.

“MGC previously ordered all riverboat gaming casinos in the state to
temporarily suspend their casino operations and to close effective
midnight March 17, 2020 due to concerns related to the COVID-19
pandemic.”
