US.- Casinos in Minnesota will begin reopening today (May 26) after being shut for more than two months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tribal operators have set their own timeline for reopening, starting today, ahead of the state’s plans to begin lifting lockdown measures from June 1.

Strict measures and procedures will be adhered to inside the casinos once they reopen, with tribes following state guidelines and recommendations to prevent further transmission of the virus.

One of the state’s largest casinos, Mystic Lake, has installed plexiglass shields and will also increase the number of sanitised surfaces as well as reducing the capacity of its gaming floor.

Customers and employees will have temperature checks prior to entering the gaming facilities and will also be required to wear a mask.

Casinos in Nevada have also started to get ready to reopen, with June 4 the target date at present.
