MGM Springfield monthly GGR grows US$2m in February
According to a financial report, MGM Springfield saw a month-on-month increase of US$2m in revenue in February.
US.- MGM Springfield has reported an increase in gross gambling revenues (GGR) of US$2m for February, up from $14.5m in January to $16.89m.
However, the company remains cautious, with figures still a long way below pre-pandemic numbers.
February’s $16.9m in tables and slots revenue is MGM Springfield’s highest monthly revenue since $17.5m in October 2020. However, Gross Gambling revenue at the $1bn resort casino was $20.6 million in February 2020, the last full month of operations before the state shut casinos until the middle of July.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission reported that in total, gross gaming revenue from slots and table games for Plainridge Park Casino, MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor reached $67m in February 2021.
That’s up from $58m in January, but trails the $86m collected in February 2020.
Last week, Massachusetts approved a loosening of Covid-19 restrictions, which allowed casinos to operate craps games and to add seats at tables. Casinos can only operate at 40 per cent capacity.
At MGM Springfield, the highest one-month total in gross gambling revenue historically was $26.9m in September 2018, its first full month of operation. The lowest was $10.5m in November 2020.
