MGM goes solar in Las Vegas with mega renewables project
The casino operator MGM Resorts has launched the largest directly sourced renewable electricity project in the hospitality industry.
US.- Las Vegas casino company MGM Resorts International has launched what it describes as the largest directly sourced renewable electricity project in the international hospitality industry.
It’s launched a 100-megawatt solar array that is expected to provide up to 90 per cent of of daytime energy needs for 65m square feet of buildings across 13 properties on the Las Vegas Strip, including more than 36,000 rooms across Bellagio, ARIA, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand and The Mirage.
MGM said the project is part of its long-term climate strategy and significantly accelerates progress toward its 2025 goal to reduce the company’s emissions by 45 per cent per square foot.
