Massachusetts: proposal to expand Plainridge Park Casino
Lawmakers have presented a proposal to expand the casino.
US.- Massachusetts‘ Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies has heard a proposal from representatives to expand casino-style gambling in the state by allowing table games at the state’s sole slots parlour.
Plainridge Park Casino opened in 2015. Now there’s a renewed push to make the gaming facility bigger. The proposal seeks to add up to 30 table games and 250 slot machines.
Rep. Shawn Dooley told the committee that the success of Plainridge Park could create benefits for the region at large, including for Wrentham outlets and concert venues. He said it could make the area a “substantial revenue source for the commonwealth in an entertainment field.”
