Limassol casino received more than 175k visitors

It is estimated that 2000 people visited the casino every day since it opened its doors in June.

Cyprus.- Cyprus Casinos released a statement on Thursday in which it details that the first licenced casino in the country as welcomed approximately 175k visitors ever since it opened its doors on June 28, which counts as 2000 people every day.

As the company revealed in the statement the numbers are similar to the goals that Melco Group had set be fore the opening. Property President of City of Dreams Mediterranean and Cyprus Casinos said that C2 is now a must-see destination for tourists and locals: “The three months of operation of C2 were successful and the results exceeded our expectations,” he said.

The company behind the casino hosted this week two events to celebrate the opening of the facility. Finance Minister Harris Georgiades talked on behalf of the government and highlighted the income that the state is set to receive from the project. He also expressed his wish for the inauguration of the main project, City of Dreams Mediterranean resort, to take place in the next two to three years.

Limassol Mayor Nicos Nicolaides said: “Limassol is the business and financial centre of Cyprus and the city is ready to welcome such an investment.” Currently, more than 600 persons are employed at the casino, and the vast majority of those being Cypriot citizens.
