Jake’s 58 to feature more gaming machines

The casino that opened in upstate New York announced that it will add more machines to the gaming floor.

US.- Officials at Suffolk OTB’s Jake’s 58 Hotel & Casino announced that more gaming machines will be added to the gaming floor at the casino that opened earlier this year in upstate New York.

The gambling facility opened with 265 machines, and with the new announcement it’s set to feature 273 additional gaming machines. As reported by Newsday, last month the gaming machines generated US$778 in daily earnings for the operator, more than what the statewide rate perceives with US$326 every day. The officials said that they’re not surprised with the flow of money that come from the casino, as Long Island is one of the places in New York with casino activity. “We’re very pleased with what has happened so far, and we have done very little promotion, actually. The market is very strong. People enjoy spending their entertainment dollar on the VLTs, as we expected,” said Phil Nolan, Suffolk OTB president in an interview.

Despite the good results, critics said that the good results are questionable since VLT facilities indicate that the first few years are successful before they start reporting falls. The local gaming commission revealed that in just two weeks the casino increased its earnings from US$1.56 million to US$2.1 million.
