US.- The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) has announced a December 3 deadline for applications for three online-only sports betting licences.

The new permits will be issued in line with the Illinois Sports Betting Act and will go to three operators that don’t currently hold a licence or temporary licence in the state.

The IGB will announce the successful applicants within 90 days of the deadline.

Illinois’ sports betting handle fell 6 per cent in June to $476.5m, although revenue rose 31.1 per cent rise to $47.5m.

That ended a five-month streak with a handle of more than $500m. The handle was $633.6m in March, $537.2m in April, and $507m in May.
