Michigan casino unveils $100m expansion
Gun Lake Casino, located in Michigan, has unveiled a US$100 million expansion that increases the facility’s gaming offering.
US.- The Gun Lake Tribe has announced that it will invest US$100 million into its Gun Lake Casino. The Michigan facility will boost its gaming and entertainment offerings, which are scheduled to debut in the summer of 2021.
The tribe said that the announcement is part of a continued development on the master planning and infrastructure required to create a first-class entertainment facility. The Gun Lake Casino expansion will add 72,000 square feet to the existing 156,000 square foot facility. The total tribal investment into the Gun Lake Casino rises to US$415 million, the last one slated to open in 2021.
Bob Peters, Tribal chairman, explained that the expansion plans allow them t build on the efforts and provide even more employment opportunities and increased economic impact in their local communities. “We are proud of the effort of our team members that has driven the continued success of Gun Lake Casino and our tribe’s contributions to Michigan’s economy in the last eight years,” he said.
The expansion
The US$100 million casino expansion also include enlarging the gaming floor. The high limit gaming areas will add 450 more slot machines, 12 new table games and also a bigger non-smoking area.
“We have undergone a careful and detailed process to understand how to best serve the needs of our current guests – and enhanced dining, entertainment, and gaming amenities are a high priority,” added Sal Semola, president and chief operating officer for Gun Lake Casino. Moreover, when announcing the news, the chief operating officer said that these great new amenities will provide new experiences for their guests as part of their continued effort to make Gun Lake Casino the premier entertainment destination in Western Michigan.
