Greek bookmaker’s ad thanks emergency services
The ad campaign from Greek online bookmaker Stoiximan Group thanks emergency services for their work fighting Covid-19.
Greece.- Online bookmaker Stoiximan has launched a television ad campaign thanking the country’s emergency services for their work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rather than plug the bookmaker’s betting products, Stoiximan’s new campaign expresses gratitude and solidarity to Greek emergency forces on the frontline fighting the pandemic.
The campaign features a host of Greek athletes and sports players including Dimitris Diamantidis, Giorgos Samaras, Eleftherios Petrounias, Katerina Stefanidis and Anna Korakaki, and Greece-based French footballer Mathieu Valbuena, applauding the emergency services from their balconies – a gesture of gratitude developed in many countries during lockdown.
Running with the hashtag #miaomada, or #OneTeam, the ad praises “Greece’s frontline defying the odds.”
The Greek bookmaker has followed up the emergency services ad campaign by donating €250,000 to emergency services through its brand’s Stoiximan in Greece and Cyprus and Betano in Romania and Portugal.
Some countries have hailed Greece as a role model in the battle of the pandemic. The country took early steps in locking down against the virus and has kept a low number of reported cases and deaths despite public health services suffering under years of austerity measures.
Over in the UK, gambling firms have pledged to drop television ads for the remainder of the country’s lockdown.
