Gambling restrictions to strengthen in Czech markets

The official initiative targets Prague’s 200 gaming bars.

Czech Republic.- The Czech Finance Minister and ANO leader Andrej Babiš has launched administrative proceedings to curtail the licenses of 200 gaming bars in Prague, Radio Prague reported.

The official decision comes in line with a new regulation to tighten the rules governing the gambling business. Under these moves, gambling will only be allowed in a specific number of gambling venues, which in the future will be restricted.

Gaming Industry Union, a trade association, has already raised protests, explaining that the stricter regulations will force operators to switch most of the business to the online segment.
