Dutch online gambling rises to 500 million euros
A survey commissioned by Holland Casino, found that 15 percent of the residents have gambled online
Holland.- As stated by a new survey carried out by Motivaction 1.5 million Dutch residents gamble regularly or have gambled on the internet in the near past, and of that number 800,000 played at least four times a year or more. In addition, the amount of money gambled online each year rises to 500 million euros.
The survey that was commissioned by Holland Casino, found that 15 percent of the Dutch residents played poker roulette, online bingo, and blackjack. The analysis took the cases of seventeen thousand Dutch people. According to the information gathered by Motivaction, the Dutch residents spent on average 26 euros per month and with that data, the company estimated that the market could be worth a minimum of 500 million euros per year. Moreover, Holland Casino said that the Dutch online gambling market could be worth over a billion euros thanks to its 17 millon population.
In the Netherlands online gambling is currently illegal, therefore the nation’s treasury is not collecting an estimated 100 million euros a year that could be gained in taxes.
