Danish regulator to launch bid for three casinos
A second tender for three new land-based casino licences will be launched by the Danish gambling regulator.
Denmark.- The Danish gambling regulator, Spillemyndigheden, has revealed that it will launch a second tender for three new land-based casino licences. The casinos would be located in Odense, Aarhus or Vejle.
The Danish regulator renewed the licences for Casino Copenhagen and Casino Marienlyst in Elsinore, but the three for Odense, Aarhus or Vejle will undergo a second tender as the applications were rejected the first time because it was considered that they were insufficient in their scope.
Last month, the Danish Gambling Authority (DGA) revealed that during the fourth quarter of 2017, the seven land-based casinos in the country posted a decline of 4.4 per cent from the previous quarter and 3.3 per cent year-on-year. However, overall gambling revenue for the final quarter of 2017 was up 6.9 per cent.
