Cruise ships can keep casinos open while docked in Da Nang

This city will be the first Vietnamese port where international cruise ships won’t have to close their casinos.

Vietnam.- The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism urged municipal administrators not to take any actions against cruise ships that don’t close their casinos while docked in Da Nang’s Tien Sa Port, in a press conference held on Wednesday.

In the past, international cruise ships used to close their casinos whilst docked in Vietnamese ports, but according to the department’s deputy director Tran Chi Cuong his office had found “no rules that require foreign ships to close certain services when docking in Vietnam.” The goal behind this manoeuvre is to encourage more cruise lines to put Da Nang on their transit list.
