Bookmakers to donate profits from Virtual Grand National to NHS

Betting and Gaming Council members agree to use funds generated to support the National Health Service during the Coronavirus crisis.

UK.- Bookmakers in the United Kingdom will donate profits from this Saturday’s Virtual Grand National to an NHS Charity.

Betting and Gaming Council members agreed to make the gesture to the NHS Charities Group as the UK health system battles the Coronavirus pandemic, according to The Daily Mail.

The 40 runners and riders for the Virtual National will be revealed in the next 48 hours.

They include horses who had been due to run in the real race before it was cancelled due to Coronavirus.

The Virtual Grand National has been held since 2017 and boasts a good record in the past of predicting the actual outcome.

“In 2017, Cause of Causes won the Virtual Grand National and came a close second in the real race hours later,” Steve Rogers, Chief Commercial Officer at Inspired Entertainment, said.

“The 2018 result was breathtaking as Tiger Roll won both in almost identical circumstances and the computer chose three of the top five finishers, including the Tiger, in 2019.”
