Betsson reports revenue growth

The Swedish operator Betsson said that its revenue growth in Q1 was due to improved operations outside Nordics.

Sweden.- Betsson continues to grow its finances: this time it reported €124.1 million in revenues in the first quarter of 2019. The 10% year-on-year revenue growth from Betsson was due to improved operations outside the Nordics.

The operator revealed in a news statement that the event growth was due to operations in Western Europe and in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA). In the first one, revenues increased 10% to €40.1 million, while revenue in CEECA totalled €23.1 million, which is also a 15% increase.

Furthermore, despite the excellent results outside the Nordics, the performance in this territory generated revenue of €54.1 million, an increase of 2% with a 1% organic growth for Betsson.

Betsson CEO Pontus Lindwall said: “During the first half of the first quarter, there were high costs for welcome bonuses to customers as well as a difference in the dynamics of the customer behaviour. During the second half of the quarter the situation stabilised, primarily regarding customer volumes and number of new customers.”
