BCLC shares industry’s assessment
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation highlights the online gaming sector’s revenues.
Canada.- The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) activities are highly boosted by 619 players, as CalvinAyre announced. The 46 percent of the entity’s revenue is generated by only those players, representing the 5 percent registered on BCLC’s PlayNow.com.
The shocking results were released by the University of British Columbia’s Centre for Gambling Research, which carried out a study on the issue in Canada. The experts consider the local government should acknowledge the results and set further controls over gambling problems in the province.
The report was held in January 2015 and shows that 41,041 new players betted CAD$ 48 million. In total the official gambling platform of BCLC reached CAD $118 million in that month. PlayNow.com’s 619 top users made an average 420 bets per day, meaning CAD$ 6.40 for a total monthly wager of CAD$ 66,361.
