Arkansas casinos could create $122 million in tax revenue
According to a study from supporters of the proposal, legalising casinos in three counties would create an additional $122 million in annual tax revenue.
US.- The study paid for Arkansas Wins in 2016 projected an additional millionaire income in annual tax revenue as well as 3200 new jobs if the casinos in Boone, Miller and Washington counties get legalised.
In a statement released by Arkansas Wins in 2016, economist Kyle Dean said: “Based on our findings, we believe the passage of Issue 5 will result in significant Arkansas investment, creating or supporting thousands of jobs while providing a new source of tax revenue for the state and local communities.”
Robert Coon, casino campaign spokesman, said that the Washington and Boone county casinos will be similar in size and amenities to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa, and the Miller County casino will be comparable to the Cherokee Casino Roland, all of them from Oklahoma.
The proposal states that 18 percent of each casino’s net gambling receipts would go to Arkansas, another 0.5 percent would go to the county and 1.5 percent to the city.
