Resorts World expands NY racetrack
Resorts World is expanding its gaming and touristic attractions at the Aqueduct Racetrack in New York.
US.- New York Aqueduct Racetrack will be expanded with exclusive entertainment services, such as new gaming machines, restaurants and retail stores. Resorts World, operating company, announced new plans for its Queens venue last Friday as part of Genting Group’s development in the United States.
Furthermore, Genting’s American casino filial is adding 400 rooms for a four star hotel in the Aqueduct Racetrack. The project is aimed at increasing international tourism industry and growing the brand’s presence throughout the country. The project will also generate near 4,000 jobs and US$200 million revenue for the state.
The expanded New York Aqueduct Racetrack will begin its new operations by mid-2019. During the construction phase, Resorts World will employ 3,000 residents, whilst the venue will hire 1,000 employees under permanent contract. The new casino and resort will also generate several benefits for New York State’s funds.
“We want to diversify the portfolio, spread out the risk and be able to leverage international travel by having the right assets in the right cities,” said Edward Farrell, president of Genting Americas in a statement published by Bloomberg last week. The company also revealed further projects in other states.
