US.- Genting Group has published a series of casino plans in the United States, revealing the construction of newest casino in Las Vegas Strip, the most visited gaming hub in the country. Furthermore, the Malaysian company is installing new casinos in New York State, whilst also expanding its current gaming venues.
“We want to diversify the portfolio, spread out the risk and be able to leverage international travel by having the right assets in the right cities,” said Edward Farrell, president of Genting Americas in a statement published by Bloomberg.
The Las Vegas Strip US$4 billion casino is already in its construction phase. The land was acquired by Genting Group four years ago and they have been working on the casino design since then. The Las Vegas casino would have 3,000 hotel rooms and will be opened by 2020, according to the statement.
Furthermore, Genting is expanding its Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York City, and announced they are investing US$400 million in a new project near the city’s international airport John F. Kennedy. Genting is also opening a US$1.2 billion casino resort in the Catskill mountains outside New York City. The casino operator company is currently working on gaming and touristic venues in south of Boston, Massachusetts, and Miami, Florida.
