Resorts World Catskills finally opens
New York’s latest casino, the Resorts World Catskills, has finally had its inauguration last Thursday.
US.- The Resorts World Catskills is nearly fully operational and had its inauguration party last Thursday as it was scheduled. The US$1.2 billion project will oficially open next March 1 but had a party with state and local dignataries first.
“With our opening, we look forward to driving tourism to the Catskills, stimulating the economy and making meaningful contributions that help put the Catskills back on the map as a premier getaway and true destination,” Charles A. Degliomini, executive vice president of Resorts World Catskills, said in a statement.
The complex features a 18-story hotel, more than 150 table games and 2,150 slot machines and is located about 80 miles northwest of New York City. Furthermore, it will also include an entertainment village, an indoor waterpark lodge and an 18-hole golf course.
It is the fourth of a series of casinos opened since a 2013 amendment to the state’s constitution and the industry is set to assess how so many venues impact on each other.
