Paphos police attack illegal online gambling

The Greek police in Paphos conducted a raid on Sunday night in which they seized computers used as gambling machines.

Greece.- The Police in Greece continues with its attempt to eradicate illegal gambling in the country. On Sunday night, the police in Paphos conducted an operative in which it seized 13 computers used as gambling machines.

The police said that this operative was part of a campaign to crack down on online gambling, Cyprus Mail informed. The authority conducted a search on Sunday night and found 13 computers believed to being used as illegal gambling machines.

This isn’t the first time that the police in Paphos discovers illegal activity in the territory. Back in August, two facilities were raided as they were suspected of illegal activities. The establishments located in Paphos had 20 computers believed to have been turned into fruit machines.

Paphos police seized 10 computer towers that looked to work as gambling fruit machines, while the owner of the facility was taken to be questioned by the CID.

The Paphos police conducted another raid at a second establishment the same night. The authorities confiscated 10 more computers used for gambling purposes, €815 in cash and a security camera to check activity in the facility.
