New York mobile sports betting handle hits $1.76bn in September
It was the second-highest handle in the market’s history.
US.- New York’s mobile sports betting handle was $1.76bn in September, up 60 per cent compared to August and 40.8 per cent higher year-on-year. It was the 17th time in 20 months of online wagering that the New York market has topped $1bn in wagers and the second-highest handle yet after March 2023.
According to the New York Gaming Commission, revenue reached $165.6m, marking an increase of 15.6 per cent year-over-year and 68 per cent month-over-month. It’s the second time that revenue has surpassed $160m.
DraftKings was the market leader in terms of handle, with $710.5m. FanDuel second with $682.5m. Rounding off the top three, Caesars took $174m in bets. Online sports betting operators paid $84.4m in taxes, the highest monthly total yet.
