MGM Springfield nearly complete
The City Council approved more than 40 exterior signs to promote business tenants inside the MGM Springfield Casino.
US.- The opening of the MGM Springfield was scheduled for August 24th and the venue’s details are almost ready. On Monday, the City Council approved site plans for more than 40 exterior signs for business tenants at the complex to promote all the attractions inside the massive building.
“I’m glad that we are moving forward with approving the proper permits for MGM signage,” Council President Orlando Ramos said. “I look forward to the grand opening.”
“The staff, along with CCS, strongly believes that the proposed signs are consistent with the signage already installed as well as being consistent with the conceptual design that was shown during the original Site Plan Review process,” the Planning Department stated. The MGM Springfield sign is among the approved notices and will be located at the top of the parking garage on the western facade.
MGM president Bill Hornbuckle told The Associated Press this week that while the initial date was expected to be in September, the steady progress on a nearby highway project impacting the casino has allowed construction to move slightly faster than anticipated. Therefore, the US$ 960 million hotel and casino complex will have its inauguration on August 24th.
