MGM Resorts releases poll regarding Connecticut casino

The company released its own poll and said that voters support a competitive process in the state.

US.- MGM Resorts International released its own poll on Friday, which indicates that voters would support an open and competitive bidding process if Connecticut decides to add another casino to its offering.

The survey showed that 7 in 10 residents support a process that would include all qualified developers, including the tribes, to make sure the state gets the best deal. The company has been trying to get a licence in the state for quite some time, mainly to compete with tribal facilities.

The survey was conducted by the Melllman Group for MGM, and it featured 400 registered voters in the state. The poll conducted in November has a margin of error plus or minus 4%.

Last year, lawmakers selected the tribes Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan as operators of the third casino if they obtained an approval from the US Department of the Interior. MGM has been trying to secure a licence in order to compete with the tribes in the state.
