Graton Resort & Casino promotes Amy Ellis to chief human resources officer

US.- Graton Resort & Casino, in Rohnert Park, California, has announced the promotion of Amy Ellis to the position of chief human resources officer. She will be responsible for managing the recruitment and retention of employees as well as overseeing team member engagement, development and wellness programmes and benefits.

Ellis has more than 19 years of experience in human resources. She joined Graton Resort & Casino as director of human resources in 2017. Previously, she served as HR director for Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds and held human resources positions at Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, Covenant House and Clark County School District.

Lana Rivera, president of Graton Resort & Casino, said: “During a time when most organizations were experiencing the Great Resignation during the Covid-19 pandemic, we saw the opposite happening here at Graton Resort & Casino. When our doors re-opened, 98% of team members returned. Amy’s leadership was a critical contributor to that, and we are truly grateful to have her on our executive team.”

Rivera was named president of the California venue in July. She has been general manager since 2019. Rivera continues to report directly to Greg Sarris, tribal chairman for the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. She will also lead the recently announced $1bn property expansion.

The casino has promoted Brian Green to the post of chief operating officer. Green is a veteran gaming executive with more than 25 years of operations and management experience.
