Fontainebleau Las Vegas appoints president
Hotel executive Cliff Atkinson is the new president of the Fontainebleau Las Vegas hotel and casino.
US.- Fontainebleau Las Vegas, a long delayed project that’s finally started to move on has named Cliff Atkinson, the former president and COO of Luxor Hotel & Casino, as president. Atkinson is an experienced executive in the hotel industry, who spent three decades managing resorts in New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
He has already assumed leadership of Fontainebleau Las Vegas as it continues to build its in-house team. He will continue to execute the strategy laid out by Fontainebleau Development as the resort aims for a debut on the Las Vegas Strip in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Atkinson said: “I feel as if my entire career has prepared me for this role. It’s a tremendous honor to lead Fontainebleau Las Vegas and bring the property to life. I’ve been in this community operating for over 10 years. I have a lot of opening experience and my time at Luxor gave me scale.
“Everything that is Fontainebleau Las Vegas, from hotel, food and beverage, entertainment, to a challenging opening in the middle of Las Vegas, every step along my journey has allowed me to put it all together in this one unique and really exciting package.”
Fontainebleau Las Vegas opening
Fontainebleau Development has confirmed that it is targeting the fourth quarter of 2023 for the opening of its x 67-storey Las Vegas casino resort. Fontainebleau Development and partners Koch Real Estate Investments held a gold-shovel ceremony in November after acquiring the property in February 2021. The project is now reported to be 75 per cent complete.
The casino spans 25 acres and approximately 9 million square feet at the Strip’s north end, adjacent to the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. It will have 3,700 rooms and convention space upwards of 550,000 square feet, pools, shops and restaurants, a spa, and nightlife offerings. Upon opening, Fontainebleau Development will be the sole hotel operator.
