Delaware sports betting handle down 28.2% year-on-year in January
Players spent $8.4m on sports betting in Delaware in January, compared to $11.7m in January 2021.
US.- Delaware‘s sports betting handle for January was $8.4m, down 28.2 per cent year-on-year. Sports betting revenue also declined.
In January 2021, players spent $11.7m in what was the second highest monthly total for the year, behind the record $12.2m spent in October. However, despite the year-on-year decline, the January 2022 figure was up 12 per cent compared to the $7.5m wagered in December.
Revenue reached $765,092, up 157.8 per cent month-on-month from $296,809 in December, but down 55.6 per cent from January 2021’s $1.7m.
The top Delaware operator for January 2022 was Delaware Park. It posted $391,335 in revenue from $4.2m in player wagers. Dover Downs took second place with $214,703 in revenue and a monthly handle of $2.3m. Harrington Raceway completed the chart with $159,054 in revenue from $1.8m in bets.
