Casino revenue hits all-time high in Pennsylvania
The combined revenue generated by casinos in Pennsylvania reached an all-time high in 2018.
US.- According to figures released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), combined revenue generated by casinos through slot machine and table games play during the 2018 calendar year was the highest annual total to date.
The total revenue of US$3.24 billion in 2018 exceeded the previous year total record of US$3.22 achieved in 2017. The record comes even with a slight 1.3% decrease in tables game revenue over the 2017 period. Gross table games revenue totalled US$878 million in 2018, which is approximately US$13 million less than what was recorded the previous year.
However, slot machine revenue helped achieve the growth by increasing more than US$32 million from the 2017 figures. The PGCB also reported that tax revenue in 2018 from the combined play of slot machines and table games was US$1.3 billion.
Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem reported the biggest share of table games revenue to US$221 million in 2018, but it was 8.74% less than what it collected in 2017. Rivers Casino saw the biggest jump in revenue from table games, from US%65.7 million in 2017 to US$76 million in 2018.
