Betsson director resigns
The gaming company announced director Tristan Sjödberg has resigned from its board as he solves a legal dispute with tax authorities.
Sweden.- Swedish operator Betsson will have to restructure its board after director Tristan Sjödberg resigned his position at the company. His decision was due to a legal dispute he is involved in with the country’s tax authorities despite having only joined Betsson in May.
“Tristan Sjöberg has resigned from Betsson AB’s Board of Directors at his own request,” the company said in a statement and added: “The reason is that he is in a legal dispute with Swedish tax authorities regarding tax liability.”
Betsson had already lost CFO Kaaren Hilsen, who left her position after working in the company for a year. However, she will work for a six-month period while the gaming operator finds a successor before she leaves to be Telecoms provider Telenor’s CEO.
“I would like to thank Kaaren for her contribution in getting Betsson back on track. I respect that she has received an offer she couldn’t refuse and wish her all the best for the future. Betsson is a stronger company than it was a year ago and I am sure that we will soon recruit a new CFO who wants to be part of taking Betsson to the next level”, Pontus Lindwall, CEO Betsson AB, said at the time she announced her resignation.
