Casino operators have voiced their optimism about AC’s casino finances in 2018 and the upcoming years.
US.- “We’re very excited about the renaissance of Atlantic City, we think it’s for real,” said Mark Giannantonio, president of Resorts Casino Hotel and led the optimistic projections by the local industry for 2018 and the coming years. Several operators have taken this stance on the future for the struggling sector and believe it will rise as hurdles are starting to disappear.
“I’m extremely optimistic about Atlantic City and the industry in 2018,” added Giannantonio as quoted by the Associated Press. He was the voice for a general optimism in the industry as the former Trump Taj Mahal is set to be reopened as Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City, Revel casino is close to follow and the potential revokation of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) that would expand gambling nationwide.
According to Mr Giannantonio, there could be a “short-term blip” but it would be overshadowed by the benefits both venues would bring. The director of the Center for Gaming Research at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, David Schwartz, concurred and projected the new casino offering will provide more competition and choices for customers.
