Macau relaxes Covid-19 restrictions with remaining Chinese destinations
Authorities in Macau have eased quarantine requirements for all visitors from mainland China from today.
Macau.- The Macau government has eased quarantine requirements for those destinations in mainland China that still had some restrictions, including the Changping District of Beijing. It has also extended the validity period of negative Covid-19 nucleic acid test results for air passengers from 48 hours to 7 days.
Anyone visiting 27 other places in the mainland within 14 days of their scheduled arrival in Macau must make a statement when entering Macau. If they show any symptoms of Covid-19 within 21 days of leaving any of the 27 locations, they must “see a doctor immediately and undergo a nucleic acid test.”
Yesterday test rules for visitors from Zhuhai were also extended to seven days. Mainland China continues to be the only country to have a largely quarantine-free travel bubble with Macau and Zhuhai is the mainland travel route for mainland Chinese tourists.
Authorities in Macau are in talks with mainland China about restarting the electronic version of the Individual Visit Scheme (IVS) but it seems nothing will change in the short term.
