Crown Sydney expected to open with 160 tables, analysts say
Don Carducci, an analyst at JP Morgan Australia, has said he expects Crown Sydney to open with 160 tables with the potential to expand that number in the future.
Australia.- After Crown Resorts’ announcement that it expects to open the gaming areas of Crown Sydney in early 2022 on a staged basis, Don Carducci, an analyst at JP Morgan Australia, has said he expects the opening will see 160 tables with the possibility to expand that number in the following months.
Crown Resorts has said that Crown Sydney’s gaming space could be expanded to 20,000 square meters. According to Carducci, the use of the remaining available space will add approximately AU$100m in additional annual table revenue, if demand remains level.
The opening of the casino at Crown Sydney was delayed due to the results of New South Wales’ inquiry into Crown, which found it unsuitable to hold its casino licence for the venue. Crown received a provisional liquor licence to operate its gastronomy offer at the new venue from December 28 last year.
In a report delivered during the company’s investors day, Crown said: “Good progress has been made in implementing the reforms outlined in our remediation plan, including those outlined in the Bergin Report, and continue to work constructively with the independent monitor.”
