UK.- The advertising regulator, Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), will host a webinar for the gambling industry next week. The schedule includes issues such as financial claims and a full explanation of gambling ad rules.

Another topic will be guidance for the protection of children. The regulator said rules in this specific area will soon be strengthened.

The webinar will take place on Tuesday, September 28, 10am – 11.30am (BST).

The ASA said: “On a general level, gambling ads must not portray, condone or encourage behaviour that could lead to financial, social, or emotional harm. This includes encouraging consumers to continue gambling after a loss, implying that consumers can excel in poker without previous experience and emphasising the buzz consumers may feel while gambling.”

It added: “Given that we’re likely to make updates to the rules soon, we encourage industry members to attend our upcoming webinar so that they can hear more about the rules directly from our experts.”
