Pennsylvania approved new fines

The local regulator revealed that it approved fines totaling US$79k for a number of violations.

US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board revealed that it approved fines totaling $79,500 for various violations. The fines were approved at the public meeting of consent agreements between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and the entities involved.

Former President and CEO of Downs Racing, L.P., Robert Soper, operator of Mohegan Sun Pocono in Luzerne County, was personally fined US$60k for failing to properly disclose a number of business interests: “The fine against Mr. Soper stemmed from his failure to properly disclose on his key employee and principal license renewal forms his ownership interests in 10 companies including two, Drinkholder and ReferLocal, which did business directly with Mohegan Sun Pocono,” said the PGCB in a statement.

Moreover, Washington Trotting Association Inc., operator of The Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Washington County was fined US$12k for a self-exclusion list violation and US$7.5k for unapproved operational plan changes: it failed to notify the board of construction modifications between two restricted areas at the casino it operates.

The gaming control board is scheduled to meet again on December 13 in he PGCB’s Public Hearing Room at the Strawberry Square in Harrisburg.
