New Jersey to expand racing services

Racing operations in New Jersey may be able to include sports betting services for local players.

US.- Monmouth Park Racetrack would soon allow sports betting operations in its terminals, as legislators are debating a gaming expansion. Owners of the racetrack published their intentions to add customer attractions, such as latest modality of gaming, which is especially popular in the United States.

“It’s no longer a question of if, but when sports betting will come,” revealed Dennis Drazin, member of the operating company of the racetrack, to Paulick Report.  “Our efforts appear to have snowballed into a national movement. The people of New Jersey have voted overwhelming in favour of this issue, the American public appears to be onboard and now either the courts or Congress must act.  We are proud to have spearheaded this movement and are confident that the first sports wager will take place at Monmouth Park in the very near future.”

Monmouth Park is operated by Darby Development LLC, where Drazin currently works as advisor. He commented to the local newspaper that the company has been helping to develop the state’s economic activities as they have installed an OTW facility in Hillsborough, a Bluegrass Mini-Golf, a William Hill Race and Sports Bar and a Blu Grotto Restaurant.

“We continue our efforts to create a fan-friendly facility coupled with top-class racing in New Jersey,” added the advisor. “Our goal of bringing alternative gaming to the racetrack remains paramount. We are surrounded by states with casino-fueled purses, which has put us at a distinctive competitive disadvantage.”
