The local operator received a provisional license to operate its services in Sikkim.

India.- Delta Corporation Limited announced that they were granted a license to operate a casino in Sikkim, where they will open a gaming venue in Denzong Regency Hotel. Casino Deltin Denzog will feature more than 150 gaming options.

A statement from the Indian company confirmed that they’re fully ready to start the casino operations, therefore they “will do so immediately.” The announcement boosted shares in Delta Corporation Limited, making them over 3 percent. Earlier this month, the company announced the opening for January 14. Delta Corp already operates two offshore and one onshore casino in Goa. Last year, the government of Goa decided to allow casino vessels to operate in Mandovi River until it finds an alternate site, extending the deadline to relocate for one year.

Earlier this week, Goa casinos have been accused of having illegal agreements with the Congress, BJP as well as Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The Delhi official commented to the local press that casino operators are evading INR$4,000 (US$58.69) in tax revenues annually. The State’s Chief Electoral Officer Shri Kunal has warned gaming companies against investments on political parties’ advertising campaigns and lobbying strategies.
