Wynn is soon to land in Japan
Wynn Resorts announced it will open an office in Tokyo next summer to position itself in the country ahead of the IR licence bidding process.
Japan.- The push for an integrated resort (IR) licence in Japan continues as international companies seek to get a piece of the business. Wynn Resorts is the latest to announce it will arrive in the country next summer as it plans to open an office in Tokyo to position itself in the archipelago.
The office will be located in the Marunouchi district and will follow the arrival of the Wynn Resorts Development Japan affiliate company, wich legally established in the country last December.
“We are aware that the Japanese national and local governments are deeply considering the establishment of Japanese-style IRs. Providing information and making proposals to the local governments is an important responsibility of the IR operators,” Wynn CEO Matt Maddox said and added: “We believe that we can better respond to this information provision responsibility through the establishment of our Japan corporation and the opening of our office.”
According to the affiliate company’s president, Chris Gordon, “Wynn Resorts has so far been adding staff dedicated to the development and operation of a Japanese-style IR at its main offices in the United States,” and he explained: “With the opening of the Japan office this summer, we hope to expand our team in Japan and to strengthen cooperation with local governments and businesses. We have a long-standing know-how regarding the design, development, and management of IRs, and we believe that we can build a wonderful Japanese-style IR by collaborating with partners in Japan.”
