World Cup boosts Russian bookies’ traffic
Online sports betting operators in Russia have experienced a boost in traffic after the FIFA World Cup, which raised nearly 50%.
Russia.- The FIFA World Cup put Russia in the spotlight during June and July but businesses in the country continue to benefit from it. According to a SimilarWeb survey, online sports betting operators have posted major increases in traffic during October especially when compared to the month before football’s most important event.
According to the survey, which covered the 16 licensed online sports betting operators, 1xBet topped the charts as it reached 9.7 million visits in October, a 41% rise from May’s 5.75 million. Fonbet also posted a 42% increase as its May charts showed 5.9 million visits while it recorded 8.4 million in October, coming in second and followed by Liga Stavock, which grew 29% from 2.6 million to 3.65 million.
However, some operators posted a decrease in visits: BetCity (2.75 million, down 1.8%), Parimatch (1.2 million, down 43%), Leon (910k, down 33%) and Bingo Boom (270k, down 37.2%).
Mostbet was the operator which grew the most as it posted a stunning 60,000% increase to 1.2 million in October. However, it is the country’s newest licenced bookie and grew from only 2k in May.
