“We always look forward to G2E”
(Exclusive interview).- Tracey Chernay, Senior Vice President, Global Casino, Gaming and Lottery at TransAct, talked with Focus Gaming News after this year’s G2E Las Vegas.
Industry events such as Global Gaming Expo (G2E), which takes place in the most recognised gambling hub in the world – Las Vegas – give gaming operators and companies the opportunity to be part of the latest trends available, as well as a space to improve and grow their businesses.
TransAct Technologies Incorporated was once again part of the event and impressed visitors with its new Epic Edge™ TITO printer and other leading gaming products. Tracey Chernay, Senior Vice President, Global Casino, Gaming and Lottery at TransAct, talked with Focus Gaming News after the show about the company’s performance and its future plans.
TransAct has been growing in different markets outside the US, how did G2E benefit the company’s position in the country?
As a global company that is continuously growing, we seldom have the chance to meet with all our clients in one place at the same time. Because of this, we always look forward to G2E to meet with our contacts from all corners of the world. We also enjoy reconnecting with customers from U.S. markets, including commercial and native American tribes.
Our main priorities are to continue the excellent level of service that we have achieved with our Epic 950 casino TITO printer and other leading gaming products.
One thing that all attendees had in common, whether based in the U.S. or abroad, is that they were excited to view the new Epic Edge™ TITO printer. The Epic Edge™ is the next-generation casino ticket printer that offers operators an enhanced 300 DPI print resolution, delivering a 50% improvement over current printers. As a result, the Epic Edge can produce eye-catching tickets and razor-sharp barcodes, increasing the ticket acceptance through the bill validator and reducing attendant calls. It also includes an adjustable ticket bucket that accommodates standard tickets and smaller, paper-saving tickets. To further help slot machine operators, the firmware’s update port has been upgraded to USB. The “Edge” is built on the proven long-term performance of the Epic 950, which is currently installed in over a half a million slots throughout hundreds of casinos worldwide.
What are TransAct’s plans for the future?
Our main priorities are to continue the excellent level of service that we have achieved with our Epic 950 casino TITO printer and other leading gaming products. Because so many of our clients are familiar with the Epic 950, we also want to introduce them to the Epic Edge. OEMs worldwide are currently evaluating and approving the Epic Edge, so it will be available in games as approvals roll in. Stay tuned!
It’s wonderful to have one place where all industry leaders from the world can come together to interact and connect with each other.
What does TransAct consider as the main benefits of participating in these events?
It’s wonderful to have one place where all industry leaders from the world can come together to interact and connect with each other. We very much appreciate our visits with clients, casino contacts and OEMs because they give us the opportunity to touch base and understand their priorities so that we can best assist them. Additionally, G2E and other similar events give us the chance to get together with our global sales team so we can provide further training and enjoy the camaraderie of the company.
What was the public’s response to the company’s stand and regarding the latest products you introduced at the show?
We’re happy to say that we received many compliments and positive feedback on our booth. We set out to create a modern, yet warm and inviting stand, and our marketing and creative teams definitely delivered! As previously mentioned, many of the attendees were impressed with the Epic Edge and its innovative, time-saving features. We also showcased the latest iteration of Epicentral, which received a lot of praise as it’s the gaming industry’s only enterprise-level promotion and bonusing software suite that can target customers in real-time with customised promotions that are printed and delivered while the player is at the game.
G2E 2018 was a success, and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.
