Washington agrees tribal gambling compact amendment
The proposed amendment to the gambling compact would facilitate gambling expansion at the Snoqualmie tribe’s properties.
US.- The Washington State Gambling Commission has reached a provisional agreement to amend its gambling compact with the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe.
The amendment would allow the expansion of gambling activities in the tribe’s casino properties, allowing it to offer up to 125 gaming tables in up to two sites.
One in four tables would be permitted to accept wagers of up to $1,000 and an, as yet undefined, limited number would be able to accept wagers of $5,000.
The tribe would be able to run up to 3,000 player terminals at a single gaming property with the maximum wager cap raised to $30.
Finally, the amendment would permit more secure payment options such as near-field communication (NFC) devices, EMV or smart cards.
In return, Washington state has added to the amendment clauses on raising awareness of gambling addiction and promoting responsible gambling.
